Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

The SDG 8 aims to encourage sustained economic growth by achieving higher levels of productivity and through technological innovation. Promoting policies that encourage entrepreneurship and job creation are key to this Goal, with effective measures to eradicate forced labour, slavery and human trafficking. The goal is to achieve full and productive employment and decent work, reduce informal employment and the gender pay gap, and promote safe and secure working environments for all women and men by 2030. There are 12 targets under this goal to ensure decent work for all and economic growth of the societies. A total of 38 indicators have been identified in State Indicator Framework to measure and monitor the progress of the goal.


Facts and figures

  • Annual Growth Rate of real GDP (Adjusted to price changes) per capita is 9.57 % in 2021-22.
  • Annual Growth Rate of Manufacturing Sector is 12.03 % (2021-22) as per DES.
  • Annual Growth Rate of Agriculture Sector is 6.85 % (2021-22) as per DES.
  • Per capita Income is Rs. 80545 (at Constant Price) and Rs. 156149 at Current Prices.
  • 1315895 units were registered under Business Registration Portal upto 31 st December 2022.
  • There are 1.26 cases per 10 lakh population of human trafficking registered in 2021 as per NCRB.
  • 13 ATMs per lakh population are exist in Rajasthan as on 31 march,2022.
  • Direct Contribution of Tourism sector to total GDP is 10.69 % and growth rate is 19.44 % in 2021-22.
