Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
The aim of SDG 9 is to develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure. Besides this, support economic development and human well-being, facilitate sustainable and resilient infrastructure development with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all, and to promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization are among many targets. Investments in various infrastructure sectors like transport, irrigation, energy etc. are vital to ensuring sustainable development of many countries. This goal has 8 targets to measure its progress. A total of 18 indicators have been identified in State Indicator Framework to measure and monitor the progress of these targets.
Facts and figures
- Percentage of the rural population who live within 2 Km of an all-season road is 98.61% up to March 2022.
- Gross Capital Formation by Industry of use is Rs. 273910 crore in 2021-22.
- 49730 KM roads constructed under PMGSY up to March 2021 as per PWD Dept.
- 58.13 (per 100 population) Internet subscribers are in the State up to March 2023 as per TRAI.
- Manufacturing employment as a proportion of total employment is 10.09% in 2022-23 as per MoSPI (PLFS) Report.
